Brownsea Island

I will never forget the day Dad and I spent sailing around Brownsea Island. Although there was hardly any wind we launched from Baiter Park with an ancient Seagull outboard motor providing the headway. Unfortunately the motor died in the middle of the cross channel ferry lane section of the harbour and we were left frantically trying to revive it before we got mowed down. Thankfully before too long enough breeze got up to carry us to safety and we celebrated by beaching our boat on the shore at Brownsea for a coffee. Following the drama the rest of the day was plain sailing  and we slowly but surely circumnavigated the island and returned safely to Baiter Park via a brief bass fishing diversion. A very memorable day!
